Welcome to John Henry’s Marina! We’re thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful location in Hospital Bay, Pender Harbour (Charts 3512 and 3535) This section provides additional information for our marina guests.

As you enter the harbour, come straight ahead and look for the bright red waterfront cottage. Our dock is on the left of these two waterfront cottages.

Accommodation

If you require accommodation for guests travelling with you or guests coming to visit you while you are moored at our dock, details about each of our accommodation units can be found here.

As our accommodation units are often fully booked during the summer months, we recommend making reservations as soon as you know your travel plans.

Boat Launch

A boat launch is available. (A fee of $10.00 applies for all boat launching and is restricted to suitable tidal heights – generally high tide only so please consult local charts prior to arriving to launch a boat.)

Canada Post

A full-service Canada Post office is attached to John Henry’s General Store. The post office hours are:

Monday through Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm

Saturday: 9:00am to 1:00pm

Closed Sunday and all Statutory holidays.

Coin-operated, Self Service Laundry facilities

A coin-operate laundry facility open from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily during the summer season.

Fees are:

$3.00 per wash

$2.00 per dry

Coins are available from the Marina & Resort office.

Detailing

If you would like to have your vessel detailed while you’re visiting our marina we would be pleased to provide the names of those in the Pender Harbour area who provide this service.

Diver on Call

Bruno Pepin, the owner of the Flying Anvil Studio, is an accomplished diver, as well as a member of the Garden Bay Volunteer Fire Department. Should you require diving services, please contact Bruno: 604-883-3660.

Emergency Contact Information

This information will be printed on your receipt so you know who to contact in case of an emergency while you are visiting us.

Fish cleaning station

One is available on both docks, the marina dock and the fuel dock, for your convenience. Please clean up after each use.

Fuel Dock Discount

We offer a $.03 per litre discount at our fuel dock for all moorage clients. You must present your moorage receipt to qualify for the discount. If you are fueling prior to mooring at our dock, please advise the dock attendant.

Our fuel dock offers:

Garbage and recycling

We have a very pro-active recycling program, which includes: bottles, cans, plastics, newspapers & magazines.  Each transient moorage client is assessed a $2.00 per day fee for garbage and recycling (plus 5% GST).

Our marina recycling containers are located on the LH side of the Marina & Resort office. Our larger garbage disposal bin is located on the property, near the laundry facility, behind a blue & red fence.

Group Bookings

Every year we are pleased to host rendezvous, club gatherings and groups travelling together on our docks, where we can arrange group moorage.  Contact our Marina & Resort Office: 604-883-2336 or email: info@johnhenrysresortmarina.com for additional details and to make arrangements for the arrival of your group.

Mail Service

There is a Canada Post outlet attached to John Henry’s General Store where you can post letters or parcels. If you need to have something sent to you at our marina, the address to provide is: PO Box 68, Garden Bay BC  V0N 1S0.

When you make your moorage reservation we would appreciate you letting us know to expect mail for you, so we keep it for your arrival.

Marine Radio Channel

We monitor VHF Channel 66A. Please hail us for directions and slip/docking instructions as you enter Pender Harbour.

Moorage - Annual

A limited number of annual moorage slips are available. Moorage License Agreements are signed in mid to late March with prior year clients receiving priority. Annual moorage agreements run from April 1 through March 31. Moorage - Seasonal

A limited amount of seasonal moorage is available for the spring/summer months. Moorage License Agreements are signed in mid to late March with prior year clients receiving priority. Nautical Charts & Guidebooks

A good selection of local and popular route-related nautical charts is available in John Henry’s General Store. We also carry popular local boating guidebooks as well.

Parking

If you have guests joining you at John Henry’s and they’re bringing a vehicle, you must arrange parking in advance. We have very limited parking facilities. Parking charges are $10.00 per day. A set of keys must be left with the Marina & Resort Office in case we need to move the vehicle.

Pets

Pets must be on a leash at all times. We have a signed, designated area where pets can relieve themselves. Please ask for more information in the Marina & Resort office.

Pump Out Service

The only pump out service in Pender Harbour is available through the Madeira Park Government Wharf. For hours and charges, please call: 604-883-2561 or 1-877-873-6337.

Repairs

If you need your vessel repaired while visiting us, our Marina & Resort office can provide you with information about local repair companies. Please note it is your responsibility to ensure any contractor you work with is sufficiently covered with their own Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

Restrooms and Showers

Restroom & Shower facilities are available for men and women, in the Marina & Resort office building. They are open 24 hours a day. Coins for the showers are available in the office.

Water

Fresh water is available on the docks. This service is currently free, but if our water usage increases substantially we will have to institute a water charge to compensate for water usage because we pay for water services from the Sunshine Coast Regional District.

Wireless Internet

Complimentary. The password is indicated on your invoice. Please note that we cannot guarantee constant WiFi coverage, nor speed, due to our remote location and the usage of other mariners in the marina at any one time which affects our bandwidth.
